Aim:
Plasma Study for evaluation of assays for testing human plasma for
vCJD.
2 panels each comprising of 48 x 1ml blinded spiked pooled human
plasma samples have been prepared for evaluation.
These will shipped with 1 x 1ml vCJD brain spiked plasma, 1 x 1ml
vCJD spleen spiked plasma and 20 x plasma control samples
Information for importation permits
Normal human UK sourced plasma was pooled and spiked with either
NHBY0/0003, NHSY0/0009, NHBZ0/0005 or NHSZ0/0012 (green or purple
capped), positive samples (red capped)
Control plasma samples are from individual donors (white
capped)
Total Volume = 96ml+ 2ml+ 20ml = 118ml
Total Number of tubes = 118 tubes split over 3 biopacks

Status:
Started, Responses to advert and questionnaires back by 8th
March
~1 week review period and then tender document goes out on 15th
March results due within four weeks of receiving the panel and, in
any case, not later than 24th April 2007.
