IMPORTANT
UPDATE: Regretfully due to the current limited
opportunities for additional grant funding it has become necessary
for CFAR's handling charges to be increased with effect from
the 1st October 2011. Please see
'Ordering Reagents -> Handling Charges' for more
information.

Welcome to the Centre for AIDS Reagents, CFAR. Originally
established in 1989. The facility houses over 6000
reagents. The reagent inventory is constantly expanding, with
1743 new reagents added in 2010, see
Reagent Listings for futher details.
Reagents are shipped globally with
the primary objective being to assist and support the HIV/AIDS
research community through the provision of high quality, basic and
specialised biological research materials.
CFAR is ISO9001 certified for the
receipt, storage and ditribution of HIV/AIDS reagents.
To date over 95,000
reagents have been dispatched to more than 2000 investigators in
over 50 countries.
CFAR can assist in
multi-centre collaborative studies by providing key reagents from a
central batch, to ensure participants use the same materials,
allowing greater comparability of results.
Materials that are not readily
available can often be sourced or custom made. We also welcome
donation of new materials. Please contact us at cfar@nibsc.hpa.org.uk
