A monovalent typhoid vaccine and a combined typhoid and Hepatitis A vaccine are released for the European market. 

These vaccines are predominantly used for immunisation of adults and adolescents, who travel to endemic/high risk areas as part of their profession or for leisure.

The Vi polysaccharide component is analysed as part of the batch release process. Tests for typhoid vaccines include visual inspection, an identity test by immunoassay, a test on endotoxin content and analysis of molecular size and O-acetylation of the Vi polysaccharide by physico-chemical methods.

In-house standards are used in in the immuno-assay for Batch Release testing.
