NIBSC is responsible for distribution of all WHO IS for botulinum antitoxins.  The majority of these are depleted or out of stock and replacements have been made using material provided by the USA army.  New standards will be required in future for new generation products. NIBSC has helped in revision of Ph Eur monographs to include the non LD50 potency test.
