The anthrax vaccine is a toxoid vaccine consisting of precipitated sterile culture supernatant. This vaccine is submitted to a toxicity test, visual inspection and the presence of Protective Antigen (PA), the binding subunit of anthrax toxin, is determined by immuno assay. NIBSC has contributed to the EP monograph for Anthrax.
In-house standards are used in immuno-assays to analyse anthrax vaccines
The anthrax vaccine is released for the UK only.
