The provision of DNA control panels for HLA typing, by UKT and then NIBSC, was withdrawn following the enactment of the EU IVD Directive. New panels have been produced by NIBSC and are CE-marked for in vitro diagnostic use. Panels for HLA-A & -DRB1 typing are now available.
HLA-A & -DRB1 panels
The HLA-A & -DRB1 panels consists of 24 and 39 genomic samples, respectively, from cell lines (mostly IHW cells).
The identity of each sample has been confirmed by DNA sequencing. This also provides definitive allelic content.
The performance of each sample has been verified in SSP- and SSO-based HLA typing.
DNA is provided as 50µl at ~100ng/µl (5µg) in individual tubes.
The price for a single panel is £675. The price for the HLA-A panel and HLA-DRB1 panels together is £900.
