Copies of the protocols for the following assays in use at NIBSC can be downloaded; the new rapid MAIPA, the previous ‘consensus MAIPA’, the platelet immunofluorescence test (PIFT) and a PCR-SSP protocol for HPA genotyping.

The nomenclature of HPA antigens was updated in 2003 and the tables of protein and genetic data are now available on the Immuno Polymorphism Database hosted by EMBL-EBI.
