NIBSC Molecular Working Reagents and Genotype Panels for NAT-based assays

NIBSC Molecular Working Reagents are intended to be used as routine quality controls to monitor the performance of molecular assays. All are whole microorganism preparations which act as assay run controls, and should be extracted and amplified alongside samples. They are not intended for calibration purposes. Reagents are provided as frozen liquid preparations. Specific information on the reagents listed below can be sourced via the product code hyperlink.

The Result Reporting System (RRS) software is available free for on-line, real-time QA of all the products on this page.

Reference materials in development

We are continually working to develop new reagents to meet our customers’ needs. Below are some reagents which are in development.

Multiplex reagents for clinical molecular microbiology:

The next phase of this project will concentrate on the development of multiplex reagents for various syndromes (e.g. respiratory infections, gastric infections) using both viral and bacterial targets.
